I want to be a Ghost Hunter!

So, you love the paranormal, you love all the mysteriously disturbing things involved with the research, perhaps you love even more that people are out there that will believe you and what has happened to you to make you want to research ghosts and the paranormal… you want to be a ghost hunter!

Anyone can be a ghost hunter, you do not need to belong to a team, have a nifty website or be on national television to be respected for your research. If you keep a practical mindset and not go overboard, you can be the ultimate ghost hunter in your area! No, I am not promising this to you, but I did want to point out that there are no such things as “chosen people” in the field of parapsychology. In actuality the people in the field were more than likely directed just as you were. Either by personal “ghost incident” or they just couldn’t find another hobby that floated their boat. Yes, I affirmed that ghost hunting is just a hobby.

A hobbyist is nothing more than a person who pursues an activity in their spare time for pleasure or gratification. If you are not getting any pleasure or fulfillment from your hobby, you may want to consider digging a little deeper on why you are chasing specters. If you are at the point in your research where you are selling your personal property, maxing out your credit cards, filing bankruptcy to pay for new equipment or you are spending time away from your friends and family with your excessive traveling, you may want to reconsider seeking some advice from someone who is not in the field of parapsychology, but psychology.

I have personally witnessed teams who have broke the bank trying to prove the existence of ghosts, a lot of ruined personal relationships, neglected children just to be exploiting the financial and personal gains of ghost hunting… some have declared this to be “the curse” while I say it is people spending way too much time to fill some kind of other void in their life.

So, I do want to ask you to ask yourself, why do you want to be a ghost hunter?

Dedication is what is required to be a ghost hunter. Not countless hours in an abandoned dairy farm waiting for an EMF meter to go off. Dedication is nothing more than believing in something wholeheartedly. Dedication does not indicate going broke, neglecting your family and/or become negligent with your everyday life.

If you believe you are a ghost hunter, then you will be one! If you do not like the phrase “Ghost Hunter”, I apologize; it is not designed to be offensive. Truth is that, this is what we all are ghost hunters until we find our personal reasoning or special interest in the field of parapsychology.
