Ghostly Photography 101
The
basics! (Tonya Hacker)
This article
will be short and sweet. No matter what type of camera you use
while investigating ghosts, the most important thing for you
to use is common sense.
First off, I am not
a professional photographer. I love taking photos of
everything, not just suspected ghosts. So, in my years as an
amateur photographer and ghost hunter I have learned some key
things to watch for when taking photographs on location.
I invite you to
test out your camera at home and try to recreate “ghostly”
photos.
The better off you
understand your camera, reflections and dust the better off
you are as an investigator. Here are the top 10 things to
remember when it comes to capturing considerable evidence with
your photographs.
- Do
not take photos into any reflective source, mirrors,
doors, shiny art work or anything that can project a light
reflection.
- Keep
Lenses clean.
- Dust
is everywhere, even if a location appears to be clean.
- Your
clothing and hair contains dust.
- Avoid
taking photos outside in the elements, you will get
“dust orbs”, dust orbs are not paranormal.
- Remove
camera straps
- No
smoking!
- Do
not take photos in the wind
- If
the flash or shutter malfunctions throw out the picture.
No matter if it looks like you have a full apparition, it
is a camera malfunction. Especially with digital
photography.
And
last but not least!
-
10. Orbs are
BAD! Orbs are not ghosts,
spirit energy or anything of the sorts. If the
"orb" is moving a piece of furniture, or
creating some other phenomenon, then your orb could be
paranormal.
